Embark on a breathtaking hike through a volcanic wonderland: PR01 Trail from Velas/Calheta to Fajã dos Cubres
This exhilarating tour takes you on a journey through the heart of São Jorge Island. We’ll pick you up conveniently at your accommodation or Ferry/Airport in either Velas or Calheta and transport you to the starting point of the PR01 trail in Ribeira dos Vimes.

Along the way we will stop at a few Viewpoints for breathtaking pictures.

Trail nº 2 – Velas/Calheta, Fajã dos Vimes ou Lourais, Fajã de S.João, Velas/Calheta

Transfer from Velas or Calheta to the Fajã dos Vimes where the PR3SJO trail starts on foot, towards Fajã de S. João, passing through the Fajã dos Bodes. There is also an option to go to the village of Lourais and descend to Fajã de S. João.

This trail is linear, difficult difficulty, with extension of 10 Km and average time of 3h30m 4h30m.

In any of the options the customer is picked up in Fajã de S. João, at a hour of there choosing.

Trail nº 3 – Velas/Calheta, Pico das Caldeirinhas, Fajã do Ouvidor, Velas/Calheta

Transfer from Velas or Calheta to Pico das Caldeirinhas also known as Pico do Pedro. This linear route runs through the central zone of the island, along the mountainous mountain range. It begins at Pico do Pedro, passes through Pico da Esperança, the highest zone of the island with 1053 m altitude and ends at Fajã do Ouvidor on the North coast.

This PR4SJO trail has the linear category, medium difficulty with an extension of 17 Km and an average time of 4 or5 h.

The customer is then picked up at Fajã do Ouvidor at a hour of there choosing.

Trail nº 4 – Velas, Norte Pequeno, Velas

This route is a Transfer where the customer is left in the town of Norte Pequeno, next to the KM0 trails, then the client follows on foot the pedestrian trails in this town, where you have the opportunity to see the Fajãs do Mero, Penedia and Pontas .

This PRC6SJO track has the circular category, medium difficulty, length of 11 km and average time of 3h or 4h.

The customer is then picked up at the same starting point at a hour of there choosing.

Trail nº 5 – Velas/Calheta, Ribeira dos Vimes, Fajã dos Vimes, Velas/Calheta

This route is a Transfer where the costomer is left at the start of the trail PR2SJO Also known as Serra do Topo and ends in Faja of Vimes where you have the oportunity to try our famous local coffee from the Faja.

The customer is then picked up at the same starting point at a hour of there choosing.

Trail nº 6 – Velas, Fajã do Além, Velas

This route is a Transfer where the costomer is left at the start of the trail PRC05SJO in Santo Antonio at a little Chapel, afterwards heading down to Faja do Além, with beautiful views along the way

This PRC5SJO track has the circular category, Hard difficulty, length of 5 km and average time of 3h.

The customer is then picked up at the same starting point at a hour of there choosing.
